Australian Maths Software
A set of mathematics software programs has been written by an experienced and practising teacher for use in the secondary classroom.

The topics included on the CD are:

FUNCTIONS & CALCULUS - graphing, function recognition tests, inverse and composite functions, derivatives, limits, continuity, calculus applications including max/min problems, related rates, areas and volumes. Also included are parametric and polar functions, vector calculus, trigonometric functions and complex roots.

PROBABILITY & STATISTICS AND MISCELLANEOUS PROGRAMS - simulations, probability using sample space (cards, dice, tree and Venn diagrams); the normal, exponential, Poisson and binomial distributions, with normal approximations; time series; the mean, median and mode; change of scale and origin for univariate and bivariate data; estimating standard deviation and correlation and using Excel to draw statistical graphs. Other topics include linear programming, transformations using matrices, sequences, plotting ordered pairs on the Cartesian plane, operations using integers and investigating the area of a circle.

The CD may be purchased for $AU410 which includes GST, packaging and postage.

The software was written using Microsoft Excel 2000. Thanks to Microsoft Corporation for permission to use Microsoft Equation Editor and to Efofex for permission to use FX Draw
